The team here at Dunn’s (well those brave enough to) competed in this year’s YMCA’S 10K fun run!
And to celebrate we made doughnuts… 3,400 of them!
A little bit about the Fun Run:
The YMCA North London’s Crouch End Adult 10k and Children’s fun runs and festival is one of the largest community events in North London, now in its 27th year! This annual event combines an adult 10k event, followed by 9 children’s 1 mile fun runs. In addition to the fun runs, thousands of people enjoy the festival of entertainment throughout the day.
This is a charity event to raise funds to help vulnerable young homeless people build a better future – a fun day for families and communities to get together to help raise funds for vulnerable homeless young people at our hostel. Initially we provide a safe place to live and remove the risks that come with being homeless. Then we assist with their move into education, employment and training, and onto independent living. £150 could provide computer training enabling a homeless young person to gain employment £30 could provide one night’s accommodation £10 could provide a hot evening meal and breakfast £5 could provide a young person fleeing abuse, with a wash kit and toothbrush on their first night in our hostel.
Dunn’s bakery were proud to offer a complementary doughnut to every runner who finished the race
and with over 3,00 runner and lots of volunteers we made 3.400 doughnuts!
and what’s more is with everyone’s generous donations YMCA managed to raise £19,072!
So well done to everyone who ran!
