This week had the heady aroma of cheese in the bakery .  Once again Next retail had a batch of our tasty flaky cheese straws for an event in Old Billingsgate.  Each pair of cheese straws were hand packed so there was quite a production line and the smell drifting through the bakery was mouth watering!

We are really pleased to report that Mark Legg our Head Pastry Chef has made it as one of the final three nominees at The Baking Industry Awards.  This prestigious national competition will be hosted by Esther Rantzen and take place on Wednesday 8th September at the Park Lane Hilton London.   The awards recognise achievement and professionalism across the Baking industry acknowledging and recognising bakeries and individuals who strive to promote the industry.  Mark has worked at Dunn’s for many years and has trained many students and in his own words “looks forward to coming into work every day”.  Congratulations to Mark we are all really proud of this achievement.  Look out for future updates on the Baking Industry Awards .

Finally a word from the bird….   Cedric is relaxing and enjoying Dunn’s goodies.  He flew into Dunn’s to collect his picnic lunch.  He’s off to the park with his friends  and knows that they will be no heavy bags to carry home-  all that will be left is a few crumbs!!
