Dunn's of Crouch End is owned by Christopher Freeman and his wife Christina. Christopher is a fifth generation baker. His great-great-Grandfather Robert Freeman came down from Brackley, Northamptonshire in 1820 on a hay wagon and started work as a baker in South Grove, Highgate.
Supporting the local community
Christopher and Christina Freeman live in Crouch End are pleased to be part of the local community and to be able to support many initiatives. Christopher is often asked to support local fund raising activities and he usually says yes.
We welcome school visits to the bakery and take students for work experience from local secondary schools. Dunn's Bakery is at the heart of Crouch End and is proud to be part of a great local experience of good quality local independent food shops. Christopher is chair of Crouch End Traders which works to promote Crouch End as a a good shopping experience for all.
Making Baking History…
Dunn’s Bakery was first established in Highgate way back in 1820. That makes us one of the longest-running bakers in North London.
